The drop shot is an effective technique for catching bass in almost any condition. However, you don’t always have to rely on light line and spinning tackle to present your bait this way. Power Shotting, which is just a drop shot with heavier gear, allows anglers to fish the technique around different types of structure, such as heavy brush or grass. In this seminar, Brent Ehrler breaks down the key differences between the drop shot and powershot. Ehrler provides insights on his gear setup, and how he prefers to fish the powershot for shallow-water bass.
