The ability to properly utilize your boat’s electronics is one of the best ways to make the most of your time on the water.

“The Helix and Solix units are really phenomenal as far as what they can do,” said Greg DiPalma. “ ... Learning a lot of this stuff was just sitting in my driveway pushing buttons and just figuring out the network. The tools that we all pay for, try to get the most out of them.

They're a giant investment. Just buying one or two of these is a ton of money, but at the end of the day if you figure out how to use these properly you will catch a lot more fish on the water, it doesn't matter what species you're going for.”

Adjusting the settings on your electronics can be overwhelming, but in this seminar DiPalma walks through a few tips and tricks for adjusting your waypoints, 2D sonar, and Side-Imaging.

One tip DiPalma especially recommends is using the casting rings setting to mark zones prior to arriving at your favorite waypoints so you can fish the area before accidentally going directly over top of your target.
