I bought a new boat last year and I had a new Minn Koda Ulterra trolling motor installed it is 36 volts 112 pound thrust . I am 65 and have had my share of surgery . The Ulterra will deploy and stow with the press of a button , It has all the bells and whisels . I love it the only thing is I see that the pros are not using the ultera they are using the one that you stow manualy . Why is this are the pros concern the auto deploy and stow will breakdown on them ? Thank you

The new deploy stow on the remote you wear around your neck has a lock button so motor can’t deploy . This will change the way ya fish it is awesome . I use the remote around my neck to run motor it is much easier than using pedal . The spot lock auto pilot go to way point contour track I pilot are awesome . You can raise and lower the motor without stowing it . You can go from point to point on lake and power fish without even getting out of driver seat . You just cast from the drivers seat to see if you can get a bite you then run the trolling motor with the remote talk about power fishing it is awesome . Thanks for your help !

On my home lake I see suspend fish in front at the corner of boat docks : Not sure if it is bass my question is do we know how many hours a day bass sleep .? Do we know if fish are like deer and feed more at night . What is your opinion about dock lights to attract bait fish .? I feel like having to many dock lights on a lake hurts the daytime fishing because when the lights come on it makes it easier for fish to feed on bait fish .

Topic: Skipping

Ya know I find of course it is easier to skip with a spinning reel I am sure you know this but I tell ya I have had trouble doing it I think it takes a lot of practice to do it like the pros . It so cool to watch them do it so well practice pratice . Let’s ask the pros how long it took them to really get good at skipping .

I would like to bring up a point that to me just don’t make since but it does with the pros . They tie a florcarbon leader on to the braid
To hide the line but the lure has has a hook exposed like a Ned rig or a drops shot with a hook they can see plain and the bass still bite it is this not had to understand or am I missing something .

It took me some practice to learn to tie it there are a lot of good knots on line . I learned to tie the FG knot for joining Brad line to flora bot it was hard to tie so I use the Albright knot some use the double uniknot . The are a lot of good diagrams on line .

I live on Smith Lake Alabama the lake was 48;degrees 2 weeks ago the heavy rain has raised the lake 14 feet in the last 2 weeks the water temp is in the high 59 . My question is could this cause the spotted bass to start spawning ? The lake is not real bad muddy on Simpson creek . I am really enjoying your classes being able to ask a question is way cool !

We should be able to use one cell phone in boat . Use face time to record our catch let the fish go right after you catch it . To many fish are being caught off the beds and hauled 20 miles back to weigh in we lose the spawn eggs when this happens . The app should only allow taking a picture of the fish one time you take a picture of the fish .

One fish finder company is working on a unit that also can be used for weighing and recording your catch back to the weigh in office . It is in develoment !

My prolem with tournaments is they catch the spawning fish that is on the bed then haul the fish 20 miles to weigh in we lose those eggs . We need a way of weighing the fish and leting them go as soon as we record the catch . There should be some way to do it using facetime on phone .
