Suspended Bass
On my home lake I see suspend fish in front at the corner of boat docks : Not sure if it is bass my question is do we know how many hours a day bass sleep .? Do we know if fish are like deer and feed more at night . What is your opinion about dock lights to attract bait fish .? I feel like having to many dock lights on a lake hurts the daytime fishing because when the lights come on it makes it easier for fish to feed on bait fish .
Won't hurt a reaction bite!
Very interesting post Douglas. I'm interested to see the direction of this post because there is definitely some validity to how a dock light affects bait fish. Whether a bass cares or not is a different story.
I think you are right about the dock lights providing easy feeding opportunities for bass. That can decrease the feeding activity during the day. I've also noticed that full moon nights get the bass feeding at night and less during the day. Fish don't really sleep, but just become inactive and will often suspend. Tricky to catch when that is going on. Both John Murray and Scott Suggs have excellent seminars on how to trigger suspended fish. Must see Bass U TV. I will also say this, the warmer the water the more often a bass has to feed. The lower the water temp the less a bass needs to feed.

I can't link you to the vidoes, so you will have to copy and past the link to your browser. I'll talk with our developer about adding this feature to the Forum in the future.
Thank you for your answer I will watch the vidoes . I have learned a lot since I have joined , The video that Jerald G MAN - did about a positive additude is out standing . There is a lot of Kids in High school that need to see it and a lot of old men like me . God Bless
Why thank you PRO I have learned a lot from you all!
Dock fishing lights that operate auto sundown to sun up should be turned off when not being used. I avoid fishing docks during the daytime if they have a lot of lights on the water that comes on at night. I see a lot of fish suspended in front of the dock during the daytime. When you fish dock at night I fish like drop shot or jig vertical .
Professor: Hope you're well! Doug, here I have watched the Scott Suggs and John Murry video on fishing for suspended bass. Very good thank for help Dean >
