hopeful feedback from a fan
This is my perspective as an rekindled subscriber.
Love the product, however I find myself feeling frustrated. The pros are talking about something but it’s difficult to understand without the visual. The thing being discussed needs to be viewed for a lot of this stuff to make sense. I believe my likelihood to continue subscribing would increase greatly if the cameraman focused more on the Graphs/Maps/visual Learning Aids/etc rather than the speaker’s handsom face or the scenic backdrops.
I hope I havent given the impression of being presumptuous. I do realize there are a million reasons why this may be the case.
If this is something you’d like to discuss further, I do believe the probability of retention would benefit.
Warm Regards,
Josh
Josh,
We are working on this, and I think the latest 2D Sonar Electronics on the water class with Pete Gluszek demonstrates that we are headed in this direction. We appreciate your patronage, and I believe you'll see a lot more of what you're talking about being executed in future videos.
Great point Jason. I hadn’t even considered the timeline. I also noticed I failed to provide a good example before. Check out the “Offshore fishing & sonar electronics-Hartman” video. ~2:30-3:00 he starts pointing out “High percentage areas.”
Anywho- thanks for taking time to respond.
Best Wishes,
Josh
Hi Josh, I have been traveling since January and I am trying to catch up on all the feedback. It is appreciated! Of course we would like you to stay around and it is very helpful to hear from you. I did show a lot more of the electronics in the most recent shoots we did. I really appreciate the input know that we are working hard to keep showing more of what is happening in the boat.
Thanks!
Jeff
I may be wrong but the way I interpreted his comment is the video focuses on the Pro. But often they are looking at the power point , the students in house can see, but us video students can not.
We are constantly refining the process. The vast majority of our seminar now have slides edited in, to help when a pro says something like "The bait on the top", or "See the 2 split rings?". In most of our classes, the focus is on the pro and occasionally, they hold up a bait. The areas we are improving are the ones mentioned: pros talking about electronics, and pros talking about maps, as they require we get shots of the pro highlighting or pointing to specific things. We'll continue to make strides in these areas, and I believe we've improved significantly on the electronics videos like https://bassu.tv/bass-fishing-video/finding-fishing-isolated-cover-for-bass-bryan-thrift (Finding & Fishing Isolated Cover for Bass - Bryan Thrift)
