Blueback Herring Lakes
I fish a highland reservoir with primary forage of blue back herring. It’s tough to locate the herring in the fall and winter and it seems jerkbaits are about the only way to catch the fish. They are locked in on the herring but there isn’t a ton of information on lakes with herring. It seems that everything I was taught growing up does not apply to this lake with the herring in it. I have seen the lake change the last several years with the bass keying in on the herring year after year. Any suggestions about finding the herring and other lures to try besides jerkbaits, spoons, swim baits, etc. There also isn’t a ton of baits on the market that imitate the herring that well. Any suggestions or more videos that might help me land more fish would be greatly appreciated.
