Flipping vs punching.

Three finger - junior

Good morning every one.
I am new to flipping and punching, which is odd since I'm from Florida.
I don't have the income for a lot of gear, so is there any reason you ( as a pro) wouldn't use punching terminal tackle and baits for flipping?
I can't see any disadvantages but a pros view would be great.
Thanks and tight lines.

Punching is more likely to require some heavier tackle. Here are some must-watch classes to answer you question and help you decide what you can and can't get by with:
Lintner's Punching Tackle Tips - https://bassu.tv/bass-fishing-video/tackle-tips-punching-matted-vegetation-jared-lintner
The first part of Lintner's Live On the Water where he's punching - https://bassu.tv/bass-fishing-video/lintner-2-hour-5-bass-challenge-punching-topwater
I can't recall which of these 2 Ish videos where he covers why you need certain gear ratios, punching weight sizes, braided line preferences, hooks and knots, but probably worth checking them both out, as he's full of great punching information:
