"Jigging 10-14"

Ricky Allen - junior

First post here, trying to get better at offshore fishing. However I fish natural lakes up here in NY. Guys who win our points tournaments usually sit in 10-14 feet of water and use jigs. They just throw them in pockets of weeds 2-3 feet in front of them and jig. Just curious if anyone knows what kind of jigs are best for this or know what they are using. I don't think they are using football heads. Just wondering if anyone else uses this technique.

Maybe they are using the technique that Gussy discusses in this videos with us, called "moping". Check out these videos https://bassu.tv/bass-fishing-video/gussy-gustafson-on-moping-electronics-march-2021 & https://bassu.tv/bass-fishing-video/northern-smallmouth-bass-fishing-tactics-jeff-gustafson
Also check out 37:22 in Mike's video on tight lining https://bassu.tv/bass-fishing-video/tricked-out-finesse-fishing-tactics-iaconelli
I hope this helps
