Thanks... Then my response is...
im sure the garmin has its place and i think there maybe a learning curve to it. I say this because ive read, watched videos on folks complaining and heard Gman explain why he does not want to know the fish near boat basically they dont bite. I also fish with a guy out of a new 21ft ranger and has 2 of these things with massive screens and he wastes hours on playing video games and i never seen him catch one yet.

These technologies probably excel in deeper water, where you're less likely to spook fish. The one guy I've really seen use it effectively had it on a pole on the side of a pontoon. He got dialed into the crappie on a bridge in no time flat. The boat was on a 40-60ft dropoff, so maybe that's why he could catch the fish he was seeing.

I don't have any experience with this unit yet. I would have to refer you to the Garmin site for help. This forward-looking sonar technology is really changing things. I'm going with Humminbird 360 this year. After spending some time in the boat with Brian Thrift, I'm sold on its ability to see not only in front of the boat but on all sides around the boat. Check it out. https://bassu.tv/bass-fishing-video/electronics-master-class-bryan-thrift
