Polarized sunglasses

CT - sophomore

I was watching a seminar video with Ish and he said to make sure when you purchase sunglasses that they say 100% polarized. I recently purchased a John Crews polarized sunglasses at Cabelas and all it said was 100% UV and polarized. Didn't say 100% polarized. Does that mean its not then? The lady at the sunglasses hut said if it says polarized, it meas 100%. Need some feedback on this.

If its says polarized then that the glasses are polarized. Often times you will just see the UV label on glasses which is NOT a polarized lens and is essentially useless. A lot of the time the glasses will come with a tester card with an image you can only see if the glasses are polarized. I kept a few of these to test glasses because some cheaper ones claim to be polarized and are not. I got a pair of Wiley X glasses myself after seeing a number of the anglers use them. They really are great lenses with a noticeable difference in being able to see through the water. I personally like these for the eye coverage https://wileyx.com/wx-tobi-sunglasses-actob04. If you shop around you should be able to find them cheaper . I got mine off ebay for $80 new. Hope that helps and happy fishing!

Amphibia are absolutely stellar glasses! They have different lenses available to suit different fishing conditions. And they float! Haha!

Those look pretty good, but they're certainly premium polarized glasses at $150 each. I'd be in the dog house if I spent $150 on sunglasses. My wife likes crappie fishing, so I can get by with $3000 for electronics, but not $150 for sunglasses.

I'd love to find some high quality Polarized glasses but being one of those guys that has to wear regular glasses, my options are limited to clip on or wrap around types which the market doesn't really cover well. I can't go to contacts on order to use these nice looking shades.

I’m going to try some prescription polarized glasses next month. Polarized glasses over the counter doesn’t help me to much when everything is naturally blurry

@ssminnow. I’ve been wearing glasses for 40 years. Just tried cocoons since spring 2020. Im very pleased with the fit and function. Worth a try.

Big fan of the cocoons polarized clip-ons, if you have prescription glasses in any standard shape.

Myself, I have a very strong prescription on my eyeglasses, so regular polarized sunglasses don't work for me. I went the clip on route. I have those in about 5 different colors so I can cover most conditions. Not trying to dissuade those that can use regular sunglasses, but for some of us, those aren't an option.

I have a pair of cheap polarized sunglasses, but I am wondering if I should get more expensive ones.

Hobie makes amazing high-quality polarized glasses. I've been using them for a couple of seasons now and I want to double down on the sightmaster plus lens. It's incredible in low light and I use a reflective lens for bright light. I've been using the new Huntington model that offers three lens choices that pop in and out in seconds so you can change with conditions. Make sure to use your member benefits. 25% off Hobie. https://bassu.tv/special-offers

They also make a great magnetic clip-on that people love that require a prescription.
