Humminbird 360

Hello,

I really want one of these Humminbird 360 units.
I made a mistake and bought a Helix unit that is not network capable but I can update later , I do not mind buying another Unit to Run 360 and later update the one at Counsel so they networked, I can "sneaker net " (transfer waypoints manually for now).

My real question is how do you go about getting 360 the cheapest way. I kinda wanted to get the use out of my current trolling motor which is not the desired model they want to sell you.
Any Tips Tricks or Hacks people doing ?
For some reason I have hard time finding info on these units . There is plenty of videos on its uses but not how to implement it in your boat.

There is 360 and new Mega 360 that won ICAST last year. 360 MEGA is not shipping yet and is delayed for an undisclosed reason. So If nobody has one yet, there won't be any info out there. You should go to Humminbird's web-site and call their customer service (they are really good) directly with your exact question.

Do you know if you have to have a certain trolling motor?
My research has been tough on this product... It appears you need a certain model or models of trolling motor.
Thoughts?

You buy the Transducer, and mount it to a trolling motor, The Sonar unit that you use will have to be one of these and I copied this from the Humminbird website: "Directly compatible with HELIX G3N models with MEGA Side Imaging+ or MEGA Down Imaging+, and all SOLIX G2 models" As far as the trolling motor goes " Fortrex® MEGA 360 is compatible with both Minn Kota Fortrex and Maxxum® trolling motors." and of course there is one for the Minn Kota Ultrex. So those are facts and my next statement is a guess since they have a universal mount for putting it anywhere on your boat. I guess the mount is the difference. The only issue will be getting it to mount up on a different trolling motor so it doesn't interfere with the stowing and unstowing.

Oh and they are starting shipping the MEGA 360 now.
