How to communicate with your club fishing partner

Hello,
I have a club fishing partner that is not a friend of mine. He provides the State of the Art Equipment , but I'm convinced he knows how to catch a fish and use many different lures, However I think or feel he is clueless on how to find fish.
Help ....Signed
First Tourney of Year blown by Partner Stuck in Rut. (rut = he caught a winter bass in this spot , so thinks its the deal)

Personally, I think locating the fish is the most difficult part of fishing. I've fished for about 35 years now and practiced some techniques for hundreds of hours. Meanwhile, when I met my wife, who loves to fish, but didn't have anyone to take her, if I put her around the fish, she could vacuum them up, sometimes better than me. Also, when I fished as a co-angler, I usually caught fish of the boater caught fish, and usually didn't, if they didn't. All that to say, unproductive water will kill tournament success, no matter how experienced you are, but you put someone with a cursory knowledge of fishing around some active fish and they will catch fish. You can't make a fish bite, if they aren't there.
We have several videos on here about seasonal patterns, locating bass, etc. that should help. https://bassu.tv/bass-fishing-video/locate-bass-fast-mike-iaconelli and https://bassu.tv/bass-fishing-video/locate-bass-fast-part-2-mike-iaconelli come to mind. Now, you'll just need to convince your partner to explore seem new areas.

Thanks a Million however i am confident i can find fish... But the point is getting partner to believe in me.
As stated we fishing out if his state of the art fully rigged ranger... So he i assume looks at me like a smuck.... Its now 2 tournies blown since post... The bite is deep the water is cold but he wants to pound banks and areas he smashes them in spring and summer.
Hoplessly trying to communicate to him how fish move.... General idea is he is fishing spawning areas and fish are in winter mode

Unfortunately, this sounds like a breakdown in communication. My brother and I used to fish tournaments, we fished out of my state-of-the-art boat, etc. as you described. My brother is more about the catching than the finding, but on one occasion, he had some time to do map research, etc. and was confident he knew where they would be, so he just said, "I'd like to try something for an hour or 2 tomorrow morning, if we don't find them there, I'm sure you've got some other places we can catch them the rest of the day". Of course, we are both reasonable people. The more he started being interested in finding the fish, we ultimately started splitting the day (IE "do you want to call the shots in the 1st or 2nd half of the day?"). Ultimately, having a good team experience is mutually respecting one another as people and anglers and accepting that you won't always be right. Some people do better with that last part than others.
