Any thoughts on what to look for that would be the staging areas for the spawn and post spawn.

Hook size matters rod and line type does also. You can up size the hook wire and use 30 lb braid .Still need the right amount bend in your rod and a partner with net ready or big enough hook you can boat flip the bass because the weight makes it easy for the bass to throw the lure.

Used to catch them on spinnerbaits and jigs. Still works but much more efficient using a chatterbait.

Yes if they will chase the plopped it is much more efficient. You can cover a tremendous amount of water giving more opportunities. But I have found every day and situation is different. Some time none of it will work. They simply will not come up.

Easier to catch early in the am before the sun gets up. Depends on the conditions shakey head works ,crank baits work, topwater works some days. Better in the main river in current seams. Single bladed willow leaf works. Also they will eat a Tokyo rig with a baby. Zoom z craw reeled on the bottom in the current I use 3/4 ounce weight
