Underwater springs

I know lakes like Chickamauga have underwater springs, also heard buddy gross talk about them on his last class. Was wondering if anyone could give any pointers on what to look for on my C-MAP card or any tips on targeting theses underwater Springs. thanks!

I could be wrong, as I've never specifically targeted an underwater spring, but on impoundments, I look for old ponds. I started looking for these old ponds to find deep summer bass around the dam contours, but it makes sense that the ponds may be spring fed.
