Humminbird VS Lowrance

RemaxRich - doctor

Sup guys! I wanted to hear some input on what you perceive to be bass on your electronics. I have always been partial to humminbird electronics because I started using the Helix series units when I first got a boat.

The question is as follows: Do you believe a "fish" mark shows up differently on one as opposed to the other? I run Helix units on my bow and console and for me I recognize bass marks as a more dens oval mark. It seems as though Lowrance units tend to portray the much larger arch for a bass mark.

Any input is appreciated, tight lines!

I have 1 of each unit with fish id features turned off, both my units display fish as arches. I think the thickness of the line and length of the arch may have to do with the sensitivity and other display-related settings.

I run 3 helix and 1 solix. I find that I see a mixture of telltale fish signs. Some come across as arches, some as smaller golf ball size with a slim shadow behind it and of course the hard ping fish id marker.

Afternoon my question is about Lowrance HDS7’s sonar units. I run two units on my boat and was wondering if any seminars would be in a future done regarding these type of units. A lot of videos deal with hummingbird and Garman but not many on the HDS7. I’ve uploaded the user manual from low rants but the book describes four different units and makes it somewhat difficult to know what information deals with my son are units. I just traded my old boat for a newer Ranger and was looking for some help. Any knowledge given will be greatly appreciated and helpful. Or if you know of any help videos out there that may help me operate my units would greatly help also. Keep the awesomeInformation coming. You guys are the best

Hello Ray. . . we don't have Lowrance specific seminars scheduled for 2019. However we do have an excellent video from Jamie Hartman explaining how to setup a Lowrance unit for "video fishing" and what fish will look like on the Lowrance screen, plus trolling motor interference and much more. Please check Jamie's video out and let us know if that helps you.

Hello Bassn Aint Easy... if you see fish arches on your 'Birds, you have passed over that fish. For more detailed information on fish identification, please review our Humminbird videos, particularly "Catching Bass with Sonar Electronics" by pro-angler Brent Ehrler - one of the best on understanding Humminbirds.

In my opinion, the Sidescan and Downscan from Humminbird are by far better than the Lowrance options. With the release of 360 imaging I think Lowrance is also making themselves 1 step better than the rest. When it comes to 2D I think they perform the same, however I have heard Garmin does the best 2D picture. When its time for me to get a new boat I will 100% be going with all Humminbird. They are unmatched.
