What is best bait for shallow winter time fishing in East Texas?

Just wondering why so many articles on small mouth. We don't have small mouth in east texas.

I was a Garcia man for many years,but the line Paw never lasted very long. I now have nothing,but Lews reels and have had zero maintenance problems.

Why is flourocarbon line better than monophiliment and is the price difference worth it?

Hard to beat Berkley Big Game line.
