Ok so I been using Berkeley vanish in 14lb as a leader. I have tied the improve cinch and the double line knot swindle ties. I have had several break off when setting the hook, a few at random times and last night I fight a 3 lb fish, I get him to the bank and as I'm about to put my hands on him the line pops at the hook. What am I doing wrong

Thank you very much for your help. I just bought some of the vmc hooks you mention, I also switched to sunline shooter for fluoro. I'm gonna make sure I spend a little more time tying my knots as well as checking them throughout the day. Again thanks for help. Good luck on the water ????
