I've fished the Combahee and Savanah rivers in SC before. The rice field drainage outlets, any piece of wood just off the main river, deeper undercut channel-swing banks, and current back-eddies on the main river produced fish. Try a shakeyhead, medium crankbait, white-ish jerkbait, black popping frog, or 1/2 oz jig. Good luck!
