Herring Lake Ditch Fishing

mitchthebozz - graduate

Hey all, My home Lake is Lake Lanier in North Georgia. It's getting colder down here and fish should be getting stacked in ditches. In the past year or two I've caught em good in ditches but this year it is just as cold or colder and I cant seem to find them where they should be at. I have also caught some fish cranking rock lately and some on a jig on bluff walls up north. If you're unfamiliar with lanier, it is a predominately spotted bass lake full of schools of herring. What would be your tips in places to look for fish during this time and what ditches make the best ditches/what to catch them on. I can figure them out really well in the spring in summer but this fall/winter I haven't been able to catch them as well. Ive caught a couple on a jigging spoon and drop shot but the size doesn't seem to be there either, but somebody's catching 19-20 pound bags LOL. any info would be appreciated. thanks
