Bama Rookie : Fishing Forum Posts

I have been an Owner-Operator of a Trucking Company for several years and have not had time to fish in over 20 years, which was for bluegill and bream then. Starting to slow down and wanting to learn how to do Bass Fishing, as my Dad passed in 2017 and left me a lot of great fishing tackle and gear, but have not much idea about what is good and not?

I live in NE Alabama, about 45 minutes from Lake Guntersville, 20 Minutes from the River and 5 minutes from Dekalb County Lake (120 acres), been there 3 times fishing with a frog and worm. So far I have caught 4 limbs, 2 aquatic plants and another fishing line. Not getting frustrated, just looking for advice and or suggestions for someone such as myself trying to learn from the ground up.

If someone could steer me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated. I know there are a ton of great resources on here, but trying to figure out where to start.

I appreciate the help in advance.

Almost forgot, all my fishing will be done from the bank if this helps any. Also just found Bass Fishing 101, this will be great for me!
